About Rick Dover

Rick Dover is the Tennessee-based general manager for Family Pride Corporation, which provides independent and assisted living facilities for retired adults by restoring historic buildings and turning them into livable, eco- friendly, and affordable senior homes. One of the company’s most notable projects includes the transformation of a 1908 former high school into a 73 unit retirement community.

Prior to accepting his current post in 1993, Rick Dover worked as a self-employed residential and commercial real estate developer throughout the country. During this time, Rick Dover also took on several historic and affordable housing projects in Texas and North Carolina.

Dover joined the parent company of commercial real estate giant CBRE in 1980. During his four years with CBRE he quickly rose to one of the company’s top producers in regional and national sales. Before joining CBRE, Rick Dover held a management position with General Homes, the largest homebuilder in Houston, Texas, where he ranked number one as a top sales producer.

Today, the focus of Rick Dover is on developing and rehabilitating historic properties into useful, safe and cost-effective senior communities. Dover’s goal includes turning a 1914 school building into a 62 unit assisted living facility, as well as preserving a 1942 historic inn and renovating it into a 60 unit retirement community for seniors in Tennessee.

Rick Dover remains firm in his commitment to preserving historic buildings, and has been recognized by the Tennessee Historical Commission, the East Tennessee Preservation Alliance, as well as the East Tennessee Historical Society. He is also the recipient of the Lenoir City Mayor’s Award for Citizenship.

Rick Dover earned a B.A. degree from the University of Tennessee. He has had the honor to serve as a board member for a variety of historical societies, including the Sequoyah Hills Preservation Society in Knoxville.
